Instructions

  1. Prepare the Earl Grey Tea

    • Finely grind the Earl Grey tea leaves using a spice grinder or mortar and pestle.
  2. Make the Dough

    • In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and powdered sugar together until light and fluffy.
    • Add the ground Earl Grey tea, vanilla extract, and salt, mixing well.
    • Gradually add the flour, stirring until the dough comes together. Do not overmix.
  3. Shape and Chill

    • Roll the dough into a log (about 2 inches in diameter) or flatten it for cut-out cookies.
    • Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Bake the Cookies

    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Slice the chilled dough into ¼-inch rounds or cut out shapes.
    • Place on a lined baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes, until edges turn golden.
